On Wednesday 20th October 2020 Beacon Trefoil Guild had their first ‘mass’ meeting since THE PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN via Zoom.
Eileen aka ‘Topsy’ came on to talk to us about Family Histories
It was very interesting and we were given an insight into the sort of places to access in order to start looking for our family trees.
Topsy suggested that it was better to use the free sites as a first stepping stone and she also suggested that accessing other sites from your local library is also a good idea as these too would be free initially.
We were shown how to produce an events table, which would put an individual’s personal information into context, as it is sometimes easier to focus on particular people rather than a complete family tree. It might include:- childhood, holidays, schooldays, working days, hobbies, achievements and memorable moments.
Topsy finished the meeting by saying that the person you could be writing about: COULD BE YOU!
